  • 14.07.06. Panthula Palle, Maoist aera, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Inde.Lalitha Gone, 24 ans etaient proprétaire avec son mari de 4 acres sur lequel ils cultivaient du coton Bt. Suite à de mauvaises récoltes et des dettes qu'il n'arrivait pas à rembourser, son mari se suicida en 2005.Depuis, Lalitha travaille comme main d'oeuvre sur ses propres terres qu'elle s'est vu confisquer par les prêteurs privés ( moneyleder).  Elle doit encore leur rembourser 255000 roupies ( 4555 euros).

Shyampetavelli, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Inde.Depuis l'implantation de Monsanto en 2002 dans le pays, 90 % des fermiers qui cultivaient du coton biologique, ont accepte de planter des graines de coton genetiquement modifiees (Bt) voyant ainsi la solution miracle pour faire du profit.
  • 17.07.06. Usine de coton, Gore kunta, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Inde. ici, troisième étape : le coton est sorti des sac pour être compressé. Les ouvriers sont payés au rendement (52 roupies par sacs de coton).Le coton sera ensuite exporté dans d'autres régions de l'Inde (ex: Bengale) ou vers l'étranger (Bangadesh, Etats-Unis, Chine, Australie....) pour la confection de vêtements.
  • 12.21.06 Oil Mills, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.Cette usine, achete les graines de coton. Une fois les graines compressees, l'huile (12%) sera rafinee puis vendue sur le marche local comme huile vegtale de cuisine.Ici, la partie dure restante (80 %)  apellee {quote}oil cake{quote}, sera vendu aux fermiers comme aliment pour le betail (vaches, bufles, chevres....).

  • Back in the 20's, his grand father, Roy Bell's was traveling with 5 to 10 boxers across the outback. Nowadays, it is becoming more difficult to keep the boxers and to pay them daily.
